Happy Summer All Tree Planters, Adopters, and Enthusiasts

From Northern to Southern Nevada, it’s hot out there! Instead of planting, we’re planning our Fall projects! Like a gardener with a new seed catalog, we’re diving into contacts to make this Fall and Winter happen! What have you got? Of course, our projects come from all kinds of communities within Nevada – the ideas come from you! No project too big or too small!

We are in a full court press to deliver funds to Nevada for trees. Please respond to this email with your project ideas. We’re working in Dixon, Hawthorne, Schurz, Nixon and Ely Nevada.

North Las Vegas and Clark County Giveaways:
Hundreds of Trees!

Urban Forester Eddie Rodriguez at the City of North Las Vegas hosted a residential giveaway of 200 fruit and shade trees at Flores Park in North Las Vegas on Saturday, May 9, 2026. The tree variety was vast: including fig, pomegranate, bay laurel, all-in-one almond, plum, weeping acacia, eucalyptus, fruitless olive, mulga acacia, desert willow, and more. Happy people were able to choose their tree and receive information on planting and getting it in the ground before the heat. We look forward to continuing to help the City of North Las Vegas increase their tree canopy goals. Good luck on your new Urban Forestry Plan, we’re proud of your progress!

AND… Commissioner Tick Segerblom and staff helped give away another 200 trees at Parkdale Rec Center! Way to go Clark County.

Giveaway #2 in Duckwater

Where’s Duckwater you ask? Well it’s a beautiful stretch of eastern Nevada. On May 13th, Nevada Plants organized a second round of trees to be given away in the community. A big shout out to Board Member Bill Wolf who single-handedly completed this project. Thanks Bill!
